Moving out of range again.
Tomorrow, Monday we move onto the Bungle Bungles and will definitely lose OPTUS again until we get to Darwin on the 13th July, we have 3 days in the Bungles, 3 days at Lake Argyle, 3 single nights on the road then 4 days at Lichfield National Park then onto Darwin for 5 nights. I will update the Blog when we get to Darwin so we are hoping you are enjoying following our travels, we are having a fantastic time and not worrying about you lot down south in that cold winter weather as it is fine and sunny up here with an average 32 degrees and we have had a swim each day.
Kununurra - Sandalwood & Distillary
Today we went to the Sandalwood factory, it is amazing the amount of product that is made from it, currently it is the biggest export product in the area, when we where driving along we couldn't work out what the rows of trees where along the side of the road intermingled with plenty of dead trees. We found out that they where Sandalwood plantations and the dead trees are the original host trees that the Sandalwood is attached to and finally kill as they grow. We then went on to the Rum Distillary, we did some sampling but it is not our cup of tea. We then had a drive out to the Diversion dam which was built to divert the Ord River whilst the Lake Argyle dam was being built.
