Geikie Gorge -Fitzroy Crossing
Wednesday not Tuesday - Today we went on an early tour of Geikie Gorge through which the Fitzroy River flows, we saw a few freshwater crocs sunning themselves. It is amazing how much the river rises when in flood, this can be seen with the change in colour from white to red on the gorge walls. When in full flood it discharges 27000cubic meters a second and could fill Sydney Harbour in 6 hours. The photo of the rotunda shows the different flood levels over the last 10 years.
