Barramundi fishing on the Pentacost River
Tuesday - The best day of the trip so far, one of the things on the bucket list was to go Barra fishing so we decided to go on a fishing trip from Home Valley. It was a 4 hour trip and ended up being fantastic as I caught a 104cm Barra, what a fantastic fighting fish, it was near the end of our day and the tide was was turning, I didn't know the the Pentacost was a tidal river but our guide Tom knew the right spot and the tides. Overall the group caught the Barra, catfish and a small Bull Shark, and lost two other fish which where also possibly Barra, a great afternoon was had by the group. If the fish is between 50cm and 80cm you get to keep it but because mine was over 80cm we released it back in the river. Where we where fishing was very muddy and when Chris went to get the camera she had a slight fall (Check out the photo). The day ended with a fantastic sunset over the Pentacost and Cockburn ranges. I recommend Home Valley to anyone who is travelling up this way.
