Edith Falls north of Katherine

Monday - Heading to Edith Falls you pass through Katherine which is the 4th largest city in the Northern Territory, similar to Kununurra it is a restocking location for those traveling to either Darwin or towards WA, there where people and caravans everywhere, Woolworth's was doing a roaring trade, we picked up a few essentials. We visited the tourist information centre to find out more about Litchfield and Edith Falls, the lady said if we where going to Edith she wouldn't leave it to long to get there as it fills up quickly, lucky we took her advice as we got one of the last spots where we could put up the camper at 11am, people where continually coming in all day but the park was full. Edith Falls campground is a beautiful spot, the sites are spread out with most having a grassed area behind them and it is only a 150m walk to a large swimming hole that is fed from the falls, another feature is the fine gravel bottom, not mud, we had a couple of swims as it was 30 degrees. The cost of staying had not changed from 2008 when we where last in the NT, $6.60 per adult a night for a campground with hot showers.

Not sure what type of snake it was so we moved somewhere else to get into the water.
